Function/Department : Logistics Position Title & Location : Logistics Planner, Cornubia (2 positions) Position Purpose : The Logistics Planner is responsible for hire equipment availability for plants and CHEP customers. Through stringent analytical processes the logistics planner will control, drive and implement procedure to ensure that’s CHEP hire equipment are adequately planned for customer availability continuously. Major/Key Accountabilities : Equipment Flows: Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of the dynamics (issues and returns) of specific CHEP products at service center, geographic area and regional levels, including seasonal fluctuations and reasons / causes of fluctuations Provide recommendations on changes to customer flow patterns to improve customer service and reduce logistics costs. Ability to implement planning with Sales and negotiate availability with Service Centers Monitor and utilize historical demand (issue & return) data as well as market intelligence (obtained through liaison with Sales / Operations) to forecast future demand.
Production Planning: Calculate national production plans by plant and material based on customer demand, equipment flows as well as plant capacities. Monitor plant output vs. target in order to ensure equipment availability. Discuss any shortfall on target production with Plant Operations and make alternative plans to ensure availability of C stock to customers.
Inventory Control: Responsible for maintaining desired inventory levels at the various service centres as well as communicating the inventory levels and stock transfer plans to internal customers. Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of service centre cap
